Futsal Tryouts.

Long Island: Sunday, Oct 18, 5–8 PM at Clark Athletic Center, SUNY Old Westbury. Westchester: Saturday, Oct 24, 5–9 PM at Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club. Boys U8–U12, any club. One link for both: pick your location when you register. Already registered? You're all set.

01Why Futsal

More Touches.
Nowhere To Hide.

Futsal is indoor soccer: five a side on a hard court with a heavier, low-bounce ball. It's the best winter soccer on Long Island. The ball comes back to your son every few seconds, and every decision is his. That's what builds a first touch. Open to players from any club — no Albertson roster required.

Touches
Small squads

Small squads, small court. More touches in one night than a week of 11-a-side. Nobody stands in a line.

Structure
Real coaching

Squads of 8, a coaching staff, one plan. Same hour, twice a week — so every session builds on the last one.

Fit
Mon + Fri

No clash with midweek team training. Breaks line up with the Roslyn school calendar, so you never pay for a week he'll miss.

02What We're Building

Solve Problems.

What every squad is coached toward, U8 through U12 — and one word for where each age group is in the journey.

Tight spaces
Solve it

Teach players how to solve problems in tight spaces — receive under pressure, find the pass, beat the man, keep the ball.

Confidence
Own the ball

Develop technical confidence, creativity and a love for the game. Players who want the ball, not players who hide from it.

Play for real

Every team plays top tournaments across our region. Results follow the work, never replace it.

06Questions

What Parents Ask.

What is futsal?

Futsal is five-a-side indoor soccer, played on a hard court with a smaller, heavier ball. Players get far more touches than in an outdoor game, which is why it's one of the best ways to keep developing through the winter.

When and where is the Westchester tryout?

Saturday, October 24, 5–9 PM at Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club, 625 Castle Hill Ave, Bronx, NY. U8 5–6 PM, U9 6–7 PM, U10 7–8 PM, U11 & U12 8–9 PM. Register with the same link and choose Westchester.

Is there a Westchester location?

Yes. Albertson Select Futsal now runs in two locations: Long Island and Westchester. It's the same registration link for both. Just choose Westchester or Long Island when you sign up.

Is this winter indoor soccer on Long Island?

Yes. The winter season runs indoors on Long Island (Nassau County), Monday and Friday nights from November to February, for boys U8–U12 from any club. Littles (U6/U7) have their own intro hour.

He already does winter team training. Does this clash?

No. That's why it's Monday and Friday. Midweek team sessions stay untouched — and futsal makes him better at them.

He plays for another club. Can he try out?

Yes. Tryouts and the academy are open to players from any club. Nothing about his current team changes — futsal runs Monday and Friday so it doesn't clash with midweek training.

He registered for September 27 — does he need to register again?

No. He's already registered — just bring him on October 18.

He tried out on September 27 — should he come again?

Yes, we recommend it. Registrations have grown a lot since September, so Sunday is another chance for the staff to see him. No need to register again.

When does registration close?

Long Island registration closes Friday, October 16. Westchester registration stays open: use the same link and choose Westchester.

What if he can't make October 18?

Register anyway and email us — if we can see him another way, we'll tell you how.

Which hour is his?

Long Island (Oct 18): U8 & U9 at 5, U10 & U11 at 6, U12 at 7. Westchester (Oct 24): U8 at 5, U9 at 6, U10 at 7, U11 & U12 at 8. The US Soccer Aug 1 – Jul 31 season year decides his age group. Not sure? Register and we'll confirm his hour.

Is the tryout free?

Yes. Registering is free and there's no charge to try out. Pricing for the season is shared with selected families after tryouts.

What if he isn't picked for a squad?

Squads are picked at tryouts and spots per age group are limited, so not every player who tries out is placed. Every family hears from us either way after October 18.

Which nights does the academy train?

Monday and Friday at Futsal 516, one hour each night, same hour both nights. Age-group hours are confirmed with selected families.

What's the refund policy?

Refund terms are shared with the registration details. Questions before then — email us.

What does he bring?

Indoor or futsal shoes (flat sole, no cleats), shin guards, water. Balls are provided. Kit is optional and billed separately if you want it.

Is there a sibling discount?

Yes, for a second child in the same household. Email us after registering and we'll apply it.
